vitamin d3

Medically speaking, vitamin d3 is not actually a vitamin because your body can produce it naturally.  The vitamin d3 has been shown to protect the body against multiple sclerosis.  Also known as cholecalciferol, this substance is found naturally in animal tissues.
In order to get vitamin d3 in your body, you need to make sure you are getting an adequate amount of sunlight.  When the sunlight hits the skin, it creates and promotes D3 production.  Don’t forget, however that you can put yourself at risk for skin cancer if you don’t take precautions when out in the sun.
You can also find vitamin d3 in oily fish and milk products.  Vitamin D aids in the rate of calcium being absorbed in the intestines.  Calcium is essential for your body to retain healthy bones and teeth.  Older adults who may have a deficiency in vitamin D may have trouble absorbing the necessary amounts of calcium.  Talk to your doctor to find out what kind of supplements or vitamins are right for you.
