msm supplement

Many people are adding an msm supplement to their daily vitamin and herbal routine.  An msm supplement not only aids in the production of collagen in the body, but it also helps in fighting arthritis.  MSM stands for methyl-sulfonyl-methane, and is a naturally occurring sulfur compound, found in fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, and meat.
Sulfur has been used for centuries as an anti-inflammatory, such as in sulfur hot springs, to help ease joint and muscle pain.  You may want an msm supplement if you are worried about arthritis or muscle pain.  You can also increase your intake of foods like eggs and red peppers, which are both foods high in sulfur.  As with any nutrient or vitamin in foods, cooking the food can degrade the potency of the mineral.
Using an msm supplement may also aid in the prevention of allergies, and to help control acidity in the stomach.  Unfortunately, there is limited information about the benefits and uses of MSM, so be sure to consult your doctor or health care professional before taking any extra supplements.  MSM has also been used in treating animals that are suffering from inflammation or pain.
